Chapter Ten
Some men might take that as an insult. As if all the other times had been some kind of fake, meaningless encounter. Killian took it as Neith not recognizing the changes within himself yet. He’d spent months believing everything he felt, everything he experienced, was an illusion. Killian didn’t believe that was what everything between them until now had been. Not after the first couple of times, anyway. There was real in there, lots of it, but if Neith needed reminding, he would be more than happy to accommodate him.
He slid one hand under Neith’s head, fingers tangling in his silky, dark hair as he bent and their lips met. The kiss was slow and deep, a claiming sort of kiss. If this was the first time Neith would believe in what happened between them, he was determined it be a mind-blowing experience and leave no doubts in Neith’s mind of exactly how Killian felt.
When the kiss broke, he met Neith’s hazy eyes, liking that dazed look, full of warm, heavy desire. He shifted, urging Neith’s long legs apart and settled between them. “I think maybe you’re mistaken, li’l bit.”
Neith shook his head, arms around Killian’s neck, arching under him. “How do you mean?”
He rolled his hips, stomach clenching at the way Neith hissed and arched even more in response to the friction of cock against cock through their pants. “I mean you got this definition of ‘real’ in yer head, but what’s it mean? When I do this—” he circled his hips, cock grinding against cock to make Neith shudder and gasp. “What does it mean that you react that way? Is that real? You reacted the exact same way two days ago. So which one is real now?”
Neith frowned, biting his lip. “I don’t know. This one?”
“You gotta stop wondering, Neith. Because either way, I’m not one of them men you didn’t choose. I’m not ever gonna be. And the drug don’t need to manufacture desire that’s already there. Maybe at first, but not now. I mean, I don’t think so anyway. I think ya want me, and maybe have for a little while now.”
Neith bit his lower lip and smiled up at him. “That’s quite an ego you’ve got there, big man. I’ll have you know you’re not even my type,” he teased.
Killian just grinned. “What, cause I ain’t some slick, pretty boy? I dunno, I think maybe I got reason to have a bit of confidence, boy.”
He hoped Neith understood what he meant. Neith needed to start learning to trust himself again. Killian didn’t want him to spend even one more day worrying everything he felt was manufactured and that made it meaningless. Did Neith want this to be real? Yes. Then it already was, to Killian’s way of thinking.
“Some of it’s real, li’l bit. Most of the bits I like best—and that I think you like best—are real. The way you look at me after we’ve done scratched that itch, the way you stick
